Dr. KWOK received his Ph.D. from The University of Hong Kong in 2000. Before joining City University of Hong Kong in August 2006, he worked at The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Specializing in Chinese dialectology and historical linguistics, he has rich experience in conducting field surveys and deciphering early Chinese dialectal documents. The results of his findings appear in various renowned journals such as Journal of Chinese Linguistics, Zhongguo Yuwen (中國語文) and Language and Linguistics. He is currently a member of the editorial board of Studies in Chinese Linguistics (中國語文研究) and the executive committee of Linguistic Society of Hong Kong.
